VansEveryone knows Vans to be a popular name in lifestyle shoes. The brand has become synonymous with the sport skateboarding, creating shoes that seem to perfectly mirror the sport’s rugged, active lifestyle. Although the brand has been around since the 1970s, it was only until 2004 when they finally launched Vans Customs – an application that allows customers to design their very own pair of Vans.

Vans started as a shoe brand but the company has long evolved since their conceptualization. Their website offers several products including clothing and accessories for men and women. Some of the apparel you will find on the website includes tees, tanks, sweaters, hoodies, denims, pants and dresses. Vans shoes have spawned new styles too. From the classics, they now have more varied styles like slip-ons, hi-cuts, sandals, boat shoes and boots. Fabrics and colors include denims, neons, animal prints, leather and more.

Prices are considerably affordable. Their classic shoes range about $40 – $60, skate and lifestyle shoes are around $60 – $80. Clothing costs about $20 – $50 and accessories start at just around $15. There are no extra charges for custom shoes too, but note that there are limited shoe styles that can be customized. These include the Era, Slip-On, Old Skool, Authentic, 106 and Authentic Lo-Pro.

Vans2Their customization services will vary on the style of shoe you choose but the site’s design studio does a pretty good job of providing great options for personalization. You will be able to customize parts like the vamp, tongue binding, collar, heel, laces, eyelets, lining, collar stripe, heel tab and more. There are several colors included in the options – over 21 colors that vary from neons to classics. Aside from these colors, there are also specials included in the selection for laces. These include patterns like checkerboard and stripes. The studio is very easy to use and additionally provides options where you can save your design, share it or print it.

Currently, Vans does not deliver outside of the US. They have a pretty quick processing time – orders placed Monday – Friday before 11AM PST will be processed the same day, orders after 11AM will be processed the next business day. Custom shoe orders can’t be expedited. Orders approximately arrive within 5-7 business days. Returns for non-custom shoes and custom shoes are accepted. More information about their return policy can be found on their website.

Overall, Vans delivers highly in terms of product quality, style options and customization services. Their design studio is everything a customer needs to be able to create a stylish custom shoe. However, there are only a few styles that can be customized and it would also be better if they include monogramming and embroidery in their customization services.
